We painted our kitchen last month. It hadn't been painted since the 80′s so the color was some kind of pastel almost salmon pink and it seriously needed an upgrade and some fixing here and there.

So me and my man decided to paint the kitchen and just do it over one weekend. We thought it would be just an easy job, but the joke was on us. That weekend extended to a month and a half. We couldn’t even imagine the work involved.

First of all we had to clean the whole kitchen. Walls, ceiling, outside of cabinets, inside of cabinets, drawers, window you name it. Everything was so disgusting I still can’t believe that we ate in that room. We had to clean the walls 3 times before it was clean enough. Then we where told that the oven fan needed the filters to be replaced every 4 months. But I didn’t know that and I have been living here now for 5 years since my dad moved to Spain. The fan was broken anyway so we happily replaced it with a new one that will get its filters replaced regularly. We also used the opportunity to give some old things away and give the kitchen a more cosy feeling.

Anyways the kitchen interior is really old. I think it’s from the 50′s, and it has ornamental details on the walls and cabinet doors. We painted everything white to keep it fresh and simple. Kitchens are such colorful places that we wanted too keep it simple. But we decided to paint the ornaments and the shelves in the cabinets navy blue because we had some dark red items and we love the combination of navy blue, white, and dark red. It reminds me of Ralph Lauren, whom I love

The one bad thing about winter here in Iceland are the few hours the sun is up. So when it's up you like to go out and enjoy it.

Louisiana is such a beautiful museum located outside of Copenhagen. It's so huge me and my friend spent all day there and we didn't even have time to check it all out.

I like the idea of using the old facade of the bulding and just bunding inside of it agian insted of just ripping it all down an making some glass house insted.

My man did the cover for LayLow's consert cd that was held on Flatey. This is one of the ideas that he did for the cover. It's the small houses of Flatey. I love this pic.

Flatey is really small island in the coast of Breiðafjörður. My grandfather was born there so my family has a house there that we go to every now and then.

We have a small volcano museum here in Iceland that is located in the small town of Stykkishólmur.

Summer is the best.

So in the end we had bunch of flowers, as I call them, to hang up in the tent and on the trees in the garden. I then got this cute idea to use all the extra paper to make small flowers. I then put some safety pin on the back so people could put the flowers on them at the wedding. We also put some lights in the tend and around the tree.

The Blue Lagoon never fails. It's a must every year. (I would go often if it wouldn't be so dam expensive.)

One of my best friends invited me to dinner and a movie. We had an African soup and whatever the tv had for us.
